Deleting Your Headwater Data
Headwater stores all of your data on your device only. There are no accounts and no servers, so there is no company-side copy to request deletion of — you can delete everything yourself, immediately, and it works even without an internet connection.
Option 1 — Delete everything in the app (recommended)
- Open Headwater and go to the Profile tab.
- Tap Delete All Data.
- Confirm.
This permanently erases your health profile, habit logs and notes, screening completions, sleep audit results, imported Apple Health readings, progress, and preferences from the device, and returns the app to its first-launch state. This cannot be undone.
Option 2 — Delete the app
Deleting the Headwater app from your iPhone removes its entire local database.
Also worth knowing
- Apple Health access: you can revoke Headwater’s read access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Headwater. This stops future reads; readings already copied into Headwater are removed by Option 1 or 2. Your original data in Apple Health is never modified by Headwater (the app is read-only).
- Your purchase is safe: deleting data does not affect your one-time Premium purchase. It is tied to your Apple ID and can be brought back anytime with Restore Purchases on the unlock screen.
- PDFs you exported: any report you previously shared (to Files, Mail, AirDrop, etc.) lives wherever you sent it. Delete those copies from their destinations if you no longer want them.
- iOS device backups: like all app data, Headwater’s database may be included in your iCloud or computer backups of the whole device, which are controlled by your Apple ID settings — not by us. If that matters to you, manage it in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Backups.
Edge cases
- Rights requests under state privacy laws: because we hold no data about you, access/portability/deletion requests are satisfied by the in-app tools above. If you still want to reach us about a privacy right, contact worrier.last0f@icloud.com and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
- App won’t launch? If you cannot open the app to use Delete All Data, deleting the app (Option 2) removes all data just as completely.
